senior portrait photographer | colorado springs

Destany came to the studio for her senior portraits.   When I first opened our business, I photographed a lot of high school seniors every year, but in the last couple of years I’ve toned it down to focus on weddings.  Destany made me remember what I love so much about senior shoots.  It is so fun to spend an hour concentrating on just one person and capturing a small part of who they are right now.  I’m so excited about the images and can’t wait to share them with Destany and her momma!

Yep.  She’s gorgeous.  I think that’s the best part of this job–getting to show people how incredibly beautiful they are.

I love the big trees at the studio.  Almost as much as I love the fields.

Destany brought along a couple of books to use as props (I loved that of course!!).  I was also a big fan of the fact that one of the books was Twilight! :D

colorado springs family portrait photographer | pre-sneak

Poor Anna and Rob were burning some serious calories at our shoot tonight wrangling their sweet babies.  So I’m breaking from my usual workflow and putting up a little pre-peek to put them at rest!

The shot on the left was just me firing off a test shot to check my exposure.  But I love, love, love it.  It’s so Family Picture Day–dad is coaching daughter to smile, mom is picking schmutz off son, baby is just taking the whole thing in…and then a second later, it’s show time!

Anna, I know you’re probably not going to believe this next one! ;)

And here’s a little outtake because I just can’t help myself.  I’m calling this one “Sometimes Nic makes this exact same face at me.”

Amanda - Beautiful pics and I LOVE Mom’s sweater! If I had to guess, I’d say Anthro, but maybe she’ll stop by to fill us in. Beautiful family!

Amanda - Wahoo, I knew it ;) . Photographs great!

Fran - That face is so great!!

Susanne - What a beautiful family!!! Her daughter has *THEE* cutest outfit on!!!!

Anna Edwards - Just saw the “sneak peek”! So anxious to see the rest! Traci, you are a master at your craft, and am happy to see you got at least one of Lauren smiling! She was so sick that day… Of course the next day, she and Jack were bouncing off the walls as happy as could be (ugh).
Yes, Amanda you guessed right! :) Susanne, both of her outfits are Matilda Jane. Thanks again Traci!!!!

April Brunsch - Anna!!! Gorgeous pictures of my nephews & niece as ALWAYS!! I can’t wait to see the rest of them!

sunrise amphitheater and hotel boulderado wedding | boulder wedding photographers

Emily and Sean were married last month at the Sunrise Amphitheater in Boulder, CO with their reception at the Hotel Boulderado.  To say that they had two amazing venues is an understatement–throughout the day we ran into other brides who would say “So YOU’RE the ones who got it!”  Emily and Sean were so easy to work with and I think I’m even more excited for them to have babies then their parents are.  These two had a POSSE of kids surrounding them!  We stopped at Chautauqua Park to take their wedding portraits with the Boulder Flatirons in the background and were thrilled to find purple wildflowers.  Perfect with their purple bridesmaid dresses and bouquets!  I’m super excited about the dancing pictures from the reception–their dj had the BEST lights for dancing photos!

boettcher mansion wedding | colorado wedding photographers

We love photographing weddings at Boettcher Mansion in Golden.  It has so much character and is the perfect spot for an intimate wedding.  We photographed Leigh and Tyler’s wedding at Boettcher Mansion last year, and were so excited to return for Jamie and Rick’s!

I have seen a lot of weddings, but I have never seen a bride more smitten with her groom than Jamie with Rick.  She couldn’t keep her hands (or lips) off him from the second they saw each other that day.  She successfully snuck in a kiss during the ceremony before the “official” kiss, and she would have snuck in several others if the audience had let her!  During portrait time she couldn’t stop herself from kissing him, and hugging him, and it filled the day with so much love.

Rebecca - A friend recently led me to your site, and I must say I am IN LOVE with what you do. I’ve casually done senior portraits for years, but what you guys do is photo magic. I hope you are still in business when I get married someday.. because I’ll be calling! Keep up the phenomenal work, your images are truly amazing.
