Senior and Yearbook Portraits

colorado springs senior portraits | hilary

Whew!  We’re entering into our busiest two month stretch, so forgive us if sneak peeks or email replies aren’t as lightning fast as they have been in the past!  (Or if the bags under my eyes resemble small black holes threatening to sdevour my entire face.)  I should also take this opportunity to mention that I do plan on bringing back Photoshop Friday and Photography Tip Tuesdays–they will be wedding off-season regulars (looking at our schedule now, I’d say they will make their return in November).   And while I’m totally off topic, if anyone wants to talk Breaking Dawn with me, I’m dying to discuss it with someone since my lame sister won’t answer her phone.

Now with the admin announcement out of the way, I can share pictures of the gorgeous Hilary, who chose to have her senior portraits around Manitou Springs.  Hilary and her mother and brother were completely fantastic, and I loved spending the evening with them!

Hilary has the cutest smile!

She was totally rocking the bright pink!

The weather was conspiring against us for Jack’s senior portraits (it started to downpour just as we arrived), so we raced to relocate his session to Palmer Park (where we didn’t see a drop of rain–gotta love Colorado Spring’s isolated showers)!

Jack is an amazing guy and if I had a teenage daughter (or even a toddler daughter) I’m pretty sure I would have arranged their marriage on the spot.

Jack’s gorgeous sister was the unofficial stylist of the shoot and so we got some shots of them together:

Jack carried her up a rock since platform shoes aren’t really made for rock climbing and I got some of my favorite pictures from the shoot out of it!

After the storm had passed, we made our way back to Manitou Springs for some shots at spots they’d seen while having lunch that day. I wanted to stop at some abandoned train cars Nic and I spotted last week:

There’s a line in a book (ten points if you know which one [doesn't count if you're my little sister and you're obsessed with said book]) where a character is described as a real life Snow White. When I met Kara, I totally felt that way! She is so fairy tale pretty it’s not fair. (And she’s super sweet to boot and don’t even get me started on her killer outfits!)

We shot her senior portraits yesterday at Helen Hunt Falls in Colorado Springs. It was my first time at the park and I couldn’t believe how cool it was!

Aren’t her eyes amazing?!

Colorado Springs Senior Portrait | Justine

I love senior portrait season!  Senior portraits are definitely one of my favorite parts of being a photographer, and with a high school senior as gorgeous as Justine, it is a very easy job!

We decided to go to my favorite spot in Colorado Springs–not Manitou or Garden of the Gods or downtown, but the fields, barns, and fences of Falcon just east of the Springs.  It meant braving the crazy woman that wanted to know exactly what these pictures were for (rural Colorado being hot on the terrorist hit list), but it was so worth it.

She’d never had her portrait taken by a professional photographer before, so Justine said she was a little nervous.  Well, I have never seen anyone so natural in front of a camera!  She’s a total pro.

I love this shot as she tries to stop laughing:

(You’d never know from the smile that there were a couple of dogs behind that fence desperate to eat her.)

And we’ll end with my favorite from the day:

Looking for Senior Reps

Our Colorado Springs senior portrait rep ad went live this week. We are looking for Senior Portrait Reps that are graduating in 2009 (current juniors who will be seniors this fall) at Colorado Springs, Falcon, and Peyton high schools.

If you made your way here from the ad, welcome! Our senior rep program has a bunch of great benefits:
