colorado springs wedding photographer | lionscrest manor | meghan and drew

Meghan and Drew kicked off my four-weddings-in-four-days extravaganza two weeks ago and I couldn’t have found a better couple to kick off such craziness!  Meghan and Drew are a photographer’s dream couple.  They are so laid back and fun and in love that they couldn’t possibly be more pleasant to be around!  She had complete confidence in us and totally just put the photography in our hands.

I have photographic evidence of how easy going Meghan is.  Here she is getting dressed…IN A PARKING LOT!

Of course, right in front of that parking lot was a gorgeous park that they picked out for portrait time, so the other angle looks like this:

The park was a perfect spot for portraits–lots of great shade and gorgeous backlit leaves!

I played with the processing on this one:

Nic was unable to shoot that day, so I asked Melissa Beck to step in for him.  She was a ton of fun to work with and I love this shot that she caught:

Once their time slot at Lionscrest Manor had arrived, we went over and got some more amazing shots:

This next shot is my favorite of the day (and probably the year)!  I created about 10 different versions playing with different actions I love it so much.  I think this one is my favorite of all the versions:

“The Kiss”–thanks to Melissa for the shot on the right!  I love it with the context of the audience!

The reception looked beautiful (centerpieces by Boulder Blooms):

They had a gorgeous (and REALLY yummy) cake from Colorado Rose Cake Company.

Meghan and Drew, thank you so much for being such a wonderful couple to work with!

Behind the scenes!

Melissa hard at work…

And one Melissa got of me with Meghan and Drew’s niece.  She was really interested in my camera so I had her fire off a couple of shots.  From the look on her face I’d say she was less-than-impressed with her work!
