Only one week after Brandi’s maternity portrait session, baby Abigail made her way into the world! It was great to see Brandi and Sam again and to meet their little baby!
It always happens that newborns never want to sleep during their portrait shoot, so we had plenty of time to capture Brandi and Abigail together as we tried to get Abigail to sleep! No new mom has any right looking this fantastic!
Babies are funny. 
We wore her down…
So we could get some classic naked baby shots.
Love the hand on the belly! And how cute is that that she still had her umbilical cord? So new!!
This shot makes me want to take a nap.

Once we had lots of Abigail shots in the bag, we tried for a more “risky” pose. “Risky” in newborn photography is defined as any pose that might wake up the baby! Sure enough she woke up as we arranged her legs (gotta be a lady when you’re sans diaper), but we got some cute ones of Sam and Abigail looking at each other!
Brandi and Sam, thanks for letting me invade your house with all of my equipment (with newborn shoots I pretty much move in for an hour or two with tons of blankets and props and backdrops and lighting stuff) and for being so patient as we got Abigail to sleep! It was great to see you and I’m so glad that parenthood agrees with you so completely!
