I share the same reasons when I switched to Nikon. In the end, it was a waiting game for me. Now, there is the 24mm f/1.4, the 35mm f/1.4, the 85mm f/1.4G and even the 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II that has since been introduced since the writing of this article.

Damn fine thoughts--thank you. Unfortunately, I am not happy with the new 5D2 and this adds to the questions of which body, brand, direction! Nice to know thoughts from fellow wedding photographers, insanely helpful--the online techno weenie feedback is useless.

Cheers!

Wow, what a thorough review! I mentioned before that I'm a beginner and I shoot with a Nikon just because that's what I was given, hand me down from my dad. When my dad was first explaining it to me, I think I made him go over the - + thing three or four times and I was like, wtf? why didn't they just reverse it? That being said, I didn't have to unlearn a previous camera and I truly love mine, especially the sooc color since I just don't like post process. If nothing else, I would have bought the Nikon for its ruggedness because I suffer daily from bouts of klutziness. Thanks for taking the time to share thoughts from your expert perspective!
